The leadership of TESCON-UEW has today 6th August, 2021 paid a courtesy call on the Maverick Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency who doubles as the Deputy Majority leader and Chairman of Ghana Road Funds Board, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin.
The President used that opportunity to congratulate Hon. Afenyo-Markin for and on behalf of the entire executive board and members for his resounding victory chalked in the just ended 2020 general elections.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin was further eulogized by the President of the association for his unending support extended to TESCON-UEW anytime he is called upon which has helped increased the membership drive of the association on the University of Education, Winneba campus.
Leadership acknowledged the fact that, Hon. Afenyo-Markin had helped the previous administration to execute certain laudable and life changing programs of which key amongst them was the *TESCON SCHOLARSHIP* which this current administration see as worth continuing as a result of that, the following programs were presented before the Deputy Majority leader for his kind consideration.
1. *TESCON-UEW Scholarship* to support the needy members of the association pay their school fees.
2. Appeal for financial support to aide one of the members by name *EDMUND ADDAI a level 300 Political Science student* that has been diagnosed with a peptic ulcer at the St. Martin De Porres Hospital and Entrance University Hospital to undergo a surgery.
3. TESCON-UEW souvenirs to be printed and distributed to members of the association to help sell the image of the association on campus and outside campus.
In conclusion, the President thank the Honorable member for the honor done us by granting us the opportunity to meet him upon all his busy schedules.
Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, thanked leadership of the association for making time to meet him.
He further went on to release an amount of *$ 5,000 United States Dollars with a cedis equivalent of GHC 30,000* Ghana Cedis to be disbursed to the members of TESCON-UEW who have applied to be supported by the association to pay their school fees.
Moreover, an amount of *GHC 5,000 Ghana Cedis* appeal was granted by the Honorable MP to the leadership of the association to support *Mr. Edmund Addai undergo surgery.*
Finally on the demands placed before the Honorable MP by the association, he has promised to help print 5,000 pieces of exercise books for the executives to distribute to members of the association.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin admonished the leadership of the association to remain resolute and united in advancing the collective interest of the association and the New Patriotic Party at large.
