AMES electoral commission lifts ban on campaigns; directs contestants to campaign for votes

The Association of Mathematics Education Students (AMES) electoral commission has finally lifted the ban they placed on campaigns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 caused so much change in the school calendar and also school activities because it was an airborne disease and so very contengent.

The management of the University of Education, Winneba placed a ban on several activities including contestants unable to campaign during students election in other to curb the spread of the virus.

However, it is believed that the state of the rising of the virus has now gone down due to the discovery of a vaccine that could protect individuals from being infected.

Contestants who are contesting for positions can now have a free way to campaign as directed by the electoral commission of the Mathematics department starting from the 10th of August.

They released a statement to address the ban lifting;
