We will close schools if court ruling does not go in favor of us on Thursday- UTAG (AUDIO)

Legal proceedings was held on Monday, 16th August, 2021 to determine the fate of both parties[ NLC and UTAG]. In the previous sitting, the court ordered UTAG to call off the strike while negotiations continues but UTAG refused hence they were fined Ghc3000 for breaching the court’s order.

The court advised both parties to seek out of court settlement and let the legal tussle come to an end. The court has scheduled 19th August for final ruling of the case.

According to the UTAG President, they had written to government on three occasions before the strike was declared but government did not respond to them. NLC resorting to the court to tame them has incurred their wrath hence their adamant decision.

According to an interview the UTAG president granted with peace fm, he asserted they remain unworried even if schools are closed because all they want from government is for their demands to be met.

If the court’s ruling on Thursday Godwilling does not go in favor of UTAG and the strike continues, it’s *”likely”* public universities will be closed until further notice.

*Remember, final ruling comes off on Thursday, 19th August,2021. Let’s pray for a positive outcome because students are facing the repercussions at the moment *
