UewDecides: Uew electoral commission begin 2021/2022 leadership elections tomorrow

The electoral commission of the University of Education, Winneba UEW commences the election of new leaders amidst examinations tomorrow.

The electoral commission suspended electoral activities due to a directive issued by the Dean of students to suspend all electoral activities which was presumed that the University Teachers Association of Ghana UTAG strike was the reason for the suspension.

The Teacher Union declared a strike on August 2nd which was a result of the failure of government to provide the agreed salary level to university Teachers.

However, the strike disrupted many activities on campus including the electing of new leaders on campus.

As the strike was suspended, the electoral commission of Uew made an arrangement and fixed a date to commence all electoral activities.

The date for the beginning of the elections happens to be tomorrow and as expected, students are urged to partake in the upcoming elections and make a choice of leadership for the school.
